Send me

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!'” -Isaiah 6:8

As Christians, our mission is to spread the love of Christ to the ends of the earth, to show everyone that God loved them enough to send His only Son to die for them, that everyone’s story can have a different ending.

But how many of us ACTUALLY go out and tell others about the Good News? Anyone can tell others about the Gospel. Anyone can talk to the next door neighbor, the guy or girl who sits near you at school, the friend who you never really talk to about the amazing truth of the Bible. Jesus doesn’t need the best of the best to spread His Work. The 12 disciples were tax collectors, fisherman, and lots of other things. God takes you as you are, right where you are, no matter who you are.
Sure, we have ourĀ  excuses: not enough money, not enough time, not enough faith, not enough courage, etc. But this is not who we are, for God will provide no matter out challenges.
“I don’t have enough money or time,” you say. But you can start where you are. We can all take the small moments when we’re beside someone that needs Jesus to tell them that there’s hope. We can transform people’s lives in Christ’s name. We can be the change in the world.
We may think we don’t have enough faith, but God says that all we need is faith as small as a mustard seed to move a mountain (Matthew 17:14-20). We may be fearful, but Joshua 1:9 says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord you God will be with you wherever you go.”
God is always with us, we have nothing to fear. Lay everything down to God. Let go and say, “Here am I. Send me.” Let Him take control. What are you doing to spread the Good News and love of Jesus Christ?
